Over at The Other 95% Eric Heupel has a very nice post describing a talk by Roger Hanlon on cephalopod camouflage behaviour.

Cephalopod skin colouration is one of the great wonders of nature. But when it comes to cool, nothing beats Vampyroteuthis.

The Book of Barely Imagined Beings by Caspar Henderson is published by Granta in the UK and by Chicago University Press in the US. In 2013 it was shortlisted for the Royal Society Winton prize for science books, a Society of Biology award, and the British Book Design Awards.
